Pendarren House has provided residential adventurous outdoor activity courses for Haringey schools since 1972. It is now available to schools and groups outside of Haringey.
The programmes are designed to stimulate and challenge the young people and to give them a wide variety of experiemces during their visit. Common themes that run through all the young people courses are environmental awareness and personal development. The courses are designed in consultation with the group leaders to ensure the programme meets the needs of the group. We can cater for all groups from key stage 2 (generally year 6) through to adults including SEN pupils.
Primary
School courses at Pendarren have an
emphasis
on learning through enjoyable experiences. They are structured
to assist schools with their delivery of the National
Curriculum. By careful preparation and liason with the
Centre, courses can
become an extension of work in school.
Each day is exciting, stimulating and fun so children
gain
confidence through success and awareness of their
individual potential. See the primary handbook for details of the activity options.
Secondary School courses have an emphasis on personal development and the curriculum. Schools can design their programme to meet their needs whether it is environmental studies, personal development, physical education, GCSE, A level, BTEC, field studies (biology, geography, history, art) or a combination of these. The educational and recreational experience is limited only by your imagination! The programmes are matched to pupils ability to reflect their growing maturity as they progress through school.
Youth Group courses have an emphasis on personal development and generally take place at holiday periods or at weekends.
